Drum and bass and jungle and breakcore.
Christoph de Babalon – 044 (Hilf Dir Selbst!)
Starts with a dark ambient note but most of it is actually jungle beats and breakcore over some atmospheric sounds. Most of the time I imagined a cyberpunk heist movie rolling with this soundtrack. This could also be a spiritual successor of the Splinter Cell soundrack by Amon Tobin, but with less sophistication and a darker tone. Oh btw, I loved this record a lot, I could easily listen to it five times in a row.
Pearson Sound – Alien Mode
Breakbeat in its truest form with tone and tempo ranging from nu skool breaks to trip hop.
Throwing Snow – Loma
First got hooked on this one when I was looking for something with broken beats and jungle rhythms, and I was happy to find this record. But then there are quite some flavors of electronics piled up here, all pretty much good flavors.
Touchy Subject - Skyward EP
IDM infused with some glitches and breakcore beats and jungle rythm and dub. Surprisingly powerful, exciting.
Basic Rhythm – Raw Trax
A mesh of tunes and beats sketching up a tag cloud of 2-step, jungle, garage, hardcore, rave, dubstep. Well deserves a listen or two.
