I still get the creeps when I hear the sound of any auto-tune vocals, but the grime and hiphop (and sometimes even rap) tracks in between are all cool. Good music, good flow, good words.
Czarface and Ghostface Killah – Czarface Meets Ghostface
It’s a bomb, the flow and beats both hit large. Also I can’t get tired of this comic style artwork.
Old Man Saxon – The Pursuit
Probably the best hiphop this year so far. Short record with many flavours from electro-infected smasher through angry shouter to seamless flow.
Dr. Octagon – Moosebumps: An Exploration Into Modern Day Horripilation
Kool Keith, Dan The Automator, DJ Qbert, and a bit of Deltron 3030.
Czarface & MF Doom – Czarface Meets Metal Face
Gensu Dean & Wise Intelligent – Game of Death
Good old simple and awesome rap. Great beats, great flow.
Dälek – Endangered Philosophies
Just the experimental hiphop that you would expect from Dälek.
Wiley – Godfather
Grime like it’s… grime. Vibe, flow, beats, bass, rhymes. No annoying shit, all good shit.
Bracken – High Passes
Diverse electronic music on hiphop speed, with mostly broken beats, basslines, wondering and moody melodies. Could say it’s triphop.
Run the Jewels – Run the Jewels 3
Excellent and exceptional hiphop and electronic music. Blast. Listen on repeat. No questions asked.
