It is so strange that this is Volkova Sister’s first long player and it only dropped this year. Feels like they have been around for a long time and have put out much more, like several records. Probably I am biased since I’ve been listening to Dalma’s different bands for the most part of the past decade. And all of them have been a blast, this one’s no different.

This is good pop music.
Xander Harris – California Chrome
Eclectic electronic: retro futurist synthwave, ambient, downtempo, electro, jumpig back and forth. That said it is not a very coherent album, but tracks are fine.
VA – Emerging Organisms vol. 5
This is the best compilation album I have heard in quite a while. Didn’t know any of the artists and now have albums queued from all of them. This is a gold mine.
Ocoeur – Reversed
Ambient, piano, strings, soft noises, blue beats if any. Music for watching an asteroid impact, penetrate and destroy earth in slow motion. Music to see rain falling backwards by.
Tim Hecker – Love Streams
Experimental compositions for heartache.
Kangding Ray – Ardent
Dark techno. Yes, please.
Guy Andrews – Our Spaces
Experimenting around electronics this album is heavy, atmospheric, deep, powerful. Has a certain world-creating feel to it like that of the Fuck Buttons, but with certain patches of softness, like a caring god touch the void with hands able to destroy yet also create tender lives.
Thug Entrancer – Arcology
Science-fiction electronic music. I see distant low-poly planets and orbiting geometrical structures but no suns just suble light barely outlining the shapes in the deep space. Best sci-fi music this year so far.
