Dark wave goth with all the right notes, classic sound.
Memory keeper. Mostly music and movies, plus some series and video games. Obscure darkness meets pop culture glow.
Dark wave goth with all the right notes, classic sound.
This is cold wave.
I don’t know that the fact they don’t (can’t?) properly play their instruments (which includes voice) in most songs is form over substance, an aesthetic choice, or just shows that in this genre it’s not the musical prowess that matters. In any case, it gives the album a noisy bedroom DYI feel.
It’s post-punk, but feels like coldwave indie, very surprisingly coming from Canada.
I wrote previously about Adam Tristar after I first saw him live. I’ve been going back to his music regularly and since then I’ve realized that his first record is probably my favorite, so this is a nod to that. Darkwave electronic goth stuff.
This sounds like how post-punk can be interpreted as bedroom shoegaze alternative hiphop in 2023. Which is just fascinating. To me this is coldwave mostly.
This band is such a perfect krautrock blend where alternative rock meets coldwave. I’ve seen them live once, they were so professional and maintained this spot-on atmosphere during their whole set.
I saw Adam Tristar on a goth club night headlining after like ten other concerts. It was a duo performing live and they stood out so much from the others, like it would be a professional act after a list of DIY bedroom bands. Well, that’s probably a pretty good approximation of what happened.
The music is all along the goth aesthetics with electronic coldwave synths. Hits close to my heart.
It’s so strange that I haven’t made note of Minuit Machine before considering how much I listen to their records recently. It’s a constant item in my cyberpunk playlists. It’s an amazing blend of electro and goth moods resulting in this beautiful dark wave atmosphere that I just strive in.
Little synthwave touch added here and there, but luckily that’s just tidbits, most is still goth and coldwave that keep setting the mood. La Maldad is the most surprising track, which sounds… playful? As it starts it somehow reminds me of CSS. Super weird, out of place, but that’s also something to love.
Coldwave and synth and drum loops. Love the moods, sometimes cheesy but that’s also spot on.
